Authoritarianism, Constitutionalism and Populism: Courts and other Means
The title of this year annual conference “Global Problems and Prospects in Public Law“ is very timely. In many countries, we have witnessed recent upsprings of authoritarianism, mainly in the form of populism, including the erosion of norms, which have tested the quality of our constitutional and democratic institutions. In that sense, in the panel we would like to address some of its consequences and effects by focusing not only on the traditional case of courts and judicial independence, but also in other non-traditional means, such as the cyberwarfare that is actually going on in the course of the Ukrainian invasion by Russia.
