Disinformation and elections: the response of electoral bodies and social platforms (spanish)

Meta is the social platform in which more cases of disinformation have been studied. Electoral misinformation in Meta has raised a series of legal conflicts around the world that have required a response from the platform and its supervisory body, the Overseight Board. This paper studies the main cases and the responses offered by the platform and the body from a transversal perspective, which includes both the legal response and the different measures adopted over time.

Electoral disinformation has become an issue for digital constitutionalism. Disinformation has become an element that accompanies any political crisis, and especially threatens elections. Its hybrid nature makes reflection and effective responses difficult in the face of a global problem of these characteristics. We present a conceptual framework of digital constitutionalism that serves to accommodate the different proposals offered in this panel.
