SUMMARY:The Banking Union and its effects on the constitutional and administrative regimes in the Member States (II)
DESCRIPTION:The Global Financial Crisis prompted numerous reforms of the rules applicable to financial supervision within the European Union (EU). One of these is the Banking Union introduced in 2012\, a project which ought to stabilise the banking sector by providing for a common regime for the supervision as well as the recovery and resolution of banks\, including rules and new authorities at the EU level. Against this background we propose two panels that consider if and how EU Member States‘ institutional frameworks had to be adapted to these changes or whether other nationally-induced or internationally-inspired triggers may have been at the origins of the reforms performed over the past decade.
