SUMMARY:State and technology: a perspective on the administrative and criminal system
DESCRIPTION:Digital transformation of administrative activities is nowadays a constantly developing phenomenon. As part of the EU NextGeneration program\, the Italian national recovery and resilience plan sets ambitious goals in terms of digitizing public administration infrastructures and services. In this sense it may be useful to reflect in which ways the use of digital platforms can modify the type of public services as well as its organization. On the other hand\, it is necessary to investigate what type of shift will be provided by technology in the public procurement sector. Another perspective concerns the ways in which State-owned enterprises will provide a contribution to the digital transformation of administrative activity. However\, many national systems are considering the implementation of artificial intelligence and the use of automated decision-making systems in criminal justice\, and this might provoke a change in the traditional categories of the liberal criminal law.
