DESCRIPTION:The Ecuadorian Constitution recognizes a vast catalogue of fundamental rights. Some of them refer to specific individuals or groups entitled to special protection. This panel addresses how the Constitutional Court of Ecuador has laid down jurisprudence on: 1) the right to a translator when refuge or asylum seekers undergo administrative procedures. 2) citizens’ participation devices as tools to protect rights of Nature. 3) Elements of Nature as concrete subjects of constitutional rights. 4) pregnant women’s rights.
