SUMMARY:Regulating Power In The Digital Era: Comparative Perspectives of Digital Constitutionalism
DESCRIPTION:The expansion of the computing network in the 21st century led to improvements and challenges to the exercise of power from sovereign nations and individuals in the online and offline world. This panel will focus on the role of public law in addressing the issues related to the rise of the information society engaging from a comparative approach. L. Conceição will focus on the normative and political counterreactions concerning disinformation in Brazil. P. Dunn will address issues concerning free speech governance in the context of EU digital policies. F. Bavetta will analyze how the use of AI in public administration decisions is challenging the previous balance of powers between citizens and the public actor. F. Paolucci will address the possibility of coding new digital rights. The panel will be divided into successive fifteen-minute presentations by each panelist. At the end of the meeting\, the discussant will open the floor for a fifteen-minute Q&A session.
