SUMMARY:Facing the Russian Invasion – Legal Response
DESCRIPTION:The panel will address the challenges of modern international legal order and security\, such as the invasion of the Russian Federation into the territory of other states (Ukraine\, Georgia) and a legal response to it. The panel papers discuss the role of the Constitution in the context of war\, the response of international courts\, including the European Court of Human Rights\, the International Criminal Court\, on human rights violations during the military invasion\, and international responsibility for war crimes. The panel will also present reports on the legislation on the occupied territories as a result of the Russian invasion\, as well as violation of international human rights standard in these territories. In addition\, the panel will discuss the new constitutional guarantees of Euro-Atlantic integration for the democratic and secure development of states in comparative perspective.
